Random Success
Imagine that Apostle Peter of Matthew 16 is your pastor or man of God. The whole congregation would have shouted excitedly when he released the Rhema of verse 16. He caught and communicated a revelation from the Holy Spirit. Think of what the congregation would have done. They would have told the whole world about the man who speaks revelations. Posters would have been printed, crusades planned and everyone invited for a 'hearing from holy spirit' concert. Only for Peter to open his mouth again and become the voice of Satan in verses 22-23.
Don't be deceived by a faulty clock because you saw it when it was showing the correct time. The question is, can it continue to show the correct time. Of course, it won't but many people would have already bought it before realizing it was only right for that minute. Be careful not to build your revelation of God around someone who is simply manifesting a random success. They are yet to understand the principles and practice of walking with Jesus. They don't know the difference between the voice of the master and the voice of the enemy. All they know is that they heard a voice.
BE CAREFUL! Be careful of the person who wants to put you in prison with dreams and revelations just because the first one appears to be correct. Have they grown to be able to discern correctly between good and evil? Have they learned how to judge voices and visions with the word of God? Be careful of men of random success. True success is never random. It is based on principles that could be understood and replicated.
What about you? Have you grown to differentiate between the voice of the master and the voice of Satan? Are you growing your Christian life in a consistent way or is it only explained by the principles of probability? Is your success in life an event or a lifestyle? Events can be big and even celebrated but it never lasts. Don't pursue success as events, pursue success as a lifestyle. Criminals can steal an event, but it fades away since their temporal success is totally inconsistent with their lifestyle. Don't be like them.
The problem we see in the life of many Christians is that their Christianity is characterized by randomness. They once saw a vision from God, but it was just a random event. Joseph was not a random dreamer, he speaks interpretations consistently from the Lord. He was mature in handling it. Many comedians have gathered a crowd in the name of the Lord simply because they mistakenly said a joke about a politician winning an election and the person won. Is this the kind of success you want?
When Peter matured, he could speak revelations from chapter to chapter by the Holy Spirit. He was no longer the random guy, he has grown to understand spiritual things. Don't be misled by the temporal success of anyone, it could actually be a random event. Those who control the world are people who operate on principles and not by randomness. Principles can be trusted, probability cannot.
'Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.' (2 Timothy 2:15).
