Express His Goodness

God wants each and every one of us in Christ Jesus to be the channel through which he will express His personality to the world. He wants us to be His Ambassadors. Yes, God wants each and every one of us to express his goodness to the world, to not only believe but demonstrate the greatness of God and the truthfulness of the Bible. He sent us to be a beacon of light, the proof of his goodness, and the expression of his love and compassion to our world. Paul wrote to the Corinthians church saying 'You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men ''.

We are called to be the living epistle, the bible that is known and read by all men. Apostle Peter said something related, 'But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.' (1 Peter 2:9). Did you get it!. This is something to shout about. God did what he did for us so we can show others the goodness of God. So our life can express his Praise. You are called to 'show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light'. This should be the ultimate goal of all of us in whatever we are doing. You are to 'show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light'.

Jesus said, 'You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.' (Matthew 5:14-15). You are the light of the world. This should not be a mere cliche. Your life is designed in Christ to express his goodness. We are to demonstrate to our world that truly we are the light. Jesus added, 'Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.' (vs 16), Wow, let it shine, let it shine everywhere and in everything. Refuse to be hidden under the table. Shine forth! Express the reality of the Word to your world.

Apostle Paul instructed the Philippian church saying: '.. work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.' (Philippians 2:12-13). He said that God is working in us, but it is our responsibility to work it out. It is our part to express his workings to our world. You're called to show forth the power of God and the impact of Christ in everything you do. Demonstrate that Jesus is alive today. Dare to stand out, dare to express the person of Christ in your world. 'Conduct yourselves with such honor among the Gentiles that, though they slander you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us.' (1 Peter 2:12).

John wrote, 'Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.' Don't just talk about his goodness. Express it! Represent it! Manifest it! Don't just love in words, show forth the love of Christ in your actions and ways. Remember the wonderful lines of Chris Rice's famous song 'Carry Your Candle': 'There is a candle in every soul, Some brightly burning, some dark and cold. There is a Spirit who brings fire - Ignites a candle and makes His home. Carry your candle, run to the darkness. Seek out the hopeless, confused, and torn. Hold out your candle for all to see it. Take your candle, and go light your world. We are a family whose hearts are blazing. So let's raise our candles and light up the sky'.
