Don't Be Destroyed By Ad

Have you ever wondered why Adam and Eve didn't eat from the 'TREE OF LIFE' and instead eat from the 'FORBIDDEN TREE'? You may think it is because they were not allowed to do so or they were restricted from doing so, but surprisingly that is not the reason. They were never told not to eat from the TREE OF LIFE and had no restriction from accessing it. The tree was actually located where they could easily see it, at the center of the garden. In addition to the fact that there was no consequence to eating from the tree, it also offers far more benefits than the one they did eat from. What really happened to them?

Each time I think about the kind of things people pursue in life, the source of the stress that people mostly face these days, the origin of conflicts in many marriages, the things people spend their money on, the things people admire and desire, the things people wish they have, or fight to have, and I see exactly the same thing that happened to Adam and Eve in the garden. People these days hardly care about true value, true happiness, or real benefits. They are even too lazy to ask themselves why they want the things they want, what exactly the benefits are, or to look even a little beyond what the world is flashing to their faces. It is painful that Christians have also become victims of these, eating forbidden fruits because it is being advertised.

This is what the bible said about the Garden of Eden, 'And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.' (Genesis 2:9) Did you see that: 'the tree of life was also in the midst of the garden'¦' In verse 16 God actually commanded them to eat from that tree: ' And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, 'Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.' (Genesis 2:16-17). What is even more touching is what the Bible said would have been the result if only they ate from the Tree of Life: 'They would have lived forever' (Genesis 3:22).

Why didn't they eat from it? Simply because it is not what was advertised. Satan did a very enticing AD for the forbidden tree, which got their attention. They ignored the consequences because the AD was designed to do exactly that. It became the most sought-after tree in the garden, and nobody even remembered that it doesn't even offer as many benefits as other trees. The same thing we see in our world today. Brothers and Sisters, the bible told us not to be conformed to this world. Refuse to be destroyed by the ADs around you. Refuse to be blinded by it. Don't lose your confidence, pride, self esteem, treasure and your place in God's plan because of the pictures the world is flashing to your face. This is one important reason you should be deliberate on the things you expose yourself to. Think about the emptiness in the things the world highlights, the big bum bums, the alcohols, and the rest. How many Christians have eaten from the forbidden trees because of these. It is painful how emptiness destroys realities and people lose their place in the kingdom as a result of what offers no real value.

Finally, maybe there is a treasure so close to you that the lord wants you to notice, but the world's logic is not allowing you to notice it. Maybe there is a business, a spouse, a solution, a method, a job, or an opportunity that he is drawing your attention to but you're being misled to the wrong things. It is time to pause, think, and be sure that you're not being destroyed and misled by the ADs around you. When Adam and Eve understood the mess they led themselves into, they lost access to the 'TREE OF LIFE'. '...And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever'' therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. So He drove out the man, and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.' (Genesis 3:22-24). What a pain! These should not be your portion!
